Melissa (Mel) Harrop brings a strong blend of leadership, communications expertise, and agricultural experience to her work and community involvement. Melissa works as the AgConnect Communications Coordinator with the County of Chester Commissioners Office, as part of the true public-private partnership with the Chester County Economic Development Council. She is a lifelong advocate for Pennsylvania agriculture. Melissa co-owns Meadow Creek Livestock in Glenmoore with her husband, where they raise livestock and grow crops.
An active supporter of local and state agricultural organizations, Melissa has served on the Chester/Delaware County Farm Bureau Board of Directors, the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau Promotion and Education Committee, and the Chester County Extension
Council. Melissa is a proud alumnus of the Pennsylvania RULE program, Class XIX. She holds degrees in Agribusiness Management & Technology from the University of Northwestern Ohio and in Digital Journalism & Media from Penn State University. A proud U.S. Army veteran, Melissa brings dedication, teamwork, and service to everything she does.
Outside of her professional and volunteer commitments, Melissa and her husband have raised three children and enjoy spending time together on their farm and being active in their local community. Her passion for agriculture, communication, and faith, continue to guide her work in strengthening and supporting agriculture and leaders.
